Answers-pt 2
I had my eyes dilated yesterday. It must have been awhile since I've done that as I have no memory of the later hours of misery from the last time. You can bet no doctor is going to be looking at the inside of my eyeballs again FOR A LONG TIME!
SHEESH!
So for now, more answers--and maybe more answers later today too. I'm saving the longest ones for last. Don't ask why.
Stacey asked:
What is your favorite thing to do to relax?
read, go the beach, sit outside and soak in the sun, walk by the river
What is the most annoying thing you can think of right at this very minute?
people whining about what order I answer the questions in--hee hee
Does your spunky personality and coolness rub off on others when they hug you?? (OH PLEASE say YES! LOLOL)
ummmmmmmm--again with the cool? ya'll are cracking me up. No, it does not, but after you've been with me awhile you'll see I am so obnoxious that you'll count it a blessing!! LOL! Ok I kid. How about, when I see you in two weeks, we hug for a really really long time and find out (two weeeeeeks **squealing and stamping a little!**)
Naomi asked:
OK, as a little girl were you a "tom boy" or a "fro fro frilly pink girl"?
such a tom boy. I lived outside where I collected bugs and creatures. I rode my bike for miles and miles. I ran. I played in the ditch and the creek. I had a pet tarantula. I spent hours with my microscope.
Upon review here I see I was also a geek--but not a froo-froo geek!
Mari asked:
You live in Florida, a hot vacation spot . . .so where is your favorite place to vacation?
first of all, I love the beach. Any beach, anywhere, and its just tough to top that. But I love the mountains very much and miss them dreadfully. My very very favorite place to vacation is my grandmother's house on the lake in michigan (click to see last summer's pics).
How did you make the decision to homeschool? ooooooo! a long one. I'll come back to this in more detail (later--i promise), but the shorter answer is, I have always felt called to homeschool, and never wanted to do anything else. Even when I was in school training to be a teacher, I knew I would homeschool. God took care of the rest.
Where did you and your husband go to university and what did you study? Do you want your girls to attend the same school? (OK, so that's 4 questions)
My husband and I both attended David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tn (this is where we met) I was an English Education major and he an Exercise Science major (NATA Certified Athletic Trainer). We both moved to Daytona (he's from here) and taught at a local high school, me for four years, he for 10. Now he is a youth pastor (still a NATA certified athletic trainer as well) and I am a domestic engineer.
And no, I would not want my children to go there because I have serious doctrinal issues with what is taught there--that and I'd have to sell internal organs to afford it.
Jamie asked:
1) What parameters would cause you to actually not answer a question posted here?
I'm not sure. No one's breeched it yet (please don't try.)
2) What do you personally believe in and yet contradict in living your life?
Nothing currently that I am aware of . God does a pretty good job of convicting me hard and often. There are thing I struggle with and things I am seeking to improve, but I don't think that necessarily implies contradiction. Of course as soon as I say this, God will smack me with a 2x4 and show me something else. Growth with God is never ending, and there's always something more to do in seeking to be more like Him.
3) What do you personally believe in that raises eyebrows by those within your own faith?
Do you mean within my church, or within the Christian faith as a whole? Because I believe a lot of things that the denomination of my childhood flat out say is not so. However, my God don't live in a box as small as that particular belief system has constructed. Within my current church body, I can't think of anything that the body as a whole would find disturbing.
4) Tell us how you really feel about "you know who."
sad. sad at the lack of any kind of joy, love mercy or compassion. Sad that God has been put in that box for that person, and they can't see that He is bigger than that. Sad that they are shackled by misery and isolation of their own creation. Sad at the complete lack of love, cherishing or respect in their marriage. sad. sad. sad.

I LOVE PINK!!

I hope it's not too late for one more question to add to your list!
I have looked all over your blog and see no list of other blogs that you enjoy. Is there a list in the works?
